MTN Cameroon woos partners with new platform launch

MTN Cameroon has launched MTN Fusion, a new collaboration platform to strengthen its connection with enterprise partners.

Unveiled in the country's economic capital Douala in July 2019, the platform is designed to help identify business opportunities related to new services and solutions, and thereby reinforce the company's current partner ecosystem.

MTN Cameroon is actively engaging partners to discuss the impact of cyber security, Artificial Intelligence, big data, IOT and digital transformation of public sector organisations, among other technology influences.

Edouard Tamba, Media Relations Coordinator at MTN Cameroon told ITWeb Africa that they believe it was the right time to launch the offering.

"MTN Cameroon isn't only building connectivity or a unified communication of IOT platforms with partners. But MTN would like to build a global technology ecosystem that enables small and medium-sized businesses, large enterprises and the public sector to partner with us and also among themselves to bring provide new possibilities not sufficiently covered by the market," said Tamba.

Hendrik Kasteel, chief executive officer at MTN Cameroon, added, "For several years now, MTN has been the main digital economy driver in Cameroon. With MTN Fusion, we are continuing this momentum, but above all, providing our cutting-edge infrastructure, technologies and talents to the ecosystem in order to create a worthy circle around us and move even faster in this great digital transformation process underway in Cameroon."

Local telcos continue to drive strategies to secure greater market share as competition increases.

MTN Cameroon has over nine million subscribers and has the biggest share of the market.
