International job search engine Adzuna announced that its jobs website Adzuna.co.za was launching in South Africa today.

London based Adzuna, the brain child of the team behind Gumtree.com, currently powers the British Prime Minister’s economic data dashboard to keep track of growth on a daily basis.

According to a company statement Adzuna aims to transform the way people search for jobs in South Africa.

Through its services Adzuna plans to make vacancy maps, salary trends and company hiring patterns available to people searching for jobs, reads the statement.

The job search site - Adzuna.co.za – will collate all the latest job ads in real-time from all major job boards and include a social layer which allows users to gain advantage in the job search process by using their Facebook and LinkedIn contacts.

Andrew Hunter, co-founder of Adzuna said, “We’re delighted to announce the launch of Adzuna.co.za and we’re excited to build on our UK success.”

“We believe the 4.5 million people out of work in South Africa are underserved by the tools currently available in the market. Our aim is to arm job seekers in the country with all the information they need to find their perfect job,” he added.
