Organisers of the upcoming Mobile Entertainment Africa event in Cape Town say they’ve had an encouraging response a fortnight before it kick-starts in South Africa.
Matthew Dawes, the event’s founder and chief enabling officer, has said a number of companies from the ICT and retail, among other industries, from around the continent had confirmed their participation for the event scheduled for Cape Town from August 29-30.
“In terms of who is coming along, we are 75% full and adding attendees by the day,” he said.
About 60 companies, among them being mapIT, MXit, Research in Motion (RIM) and Nokia South East Africa have confirmed their presence.
The Cape Town event follows similar conferences in Nairobi and Lagos in Kenya and Nigeria earlier this year.
