Three top international speakers to present at ITWeb Security Summit 2019

The first international speaker, Pete Herzog, is the co-founder of and sits on the board of directors of the Institute for Security and Open Methodologies (ISECOM), which researches and develops new solutions to complex security problems.

In his role, Herzog manages the research of all projects, including OSSTMM and Hacker Highschool. In addition, he manages communications and sharing with the ISECOM community of over 10 000 participants, making interviews, articles and overseeing content for all ISECOM's public and private interactions.

Finally, Herzog created and now oversees maintenance of the ISECOM certifications for security testing and analysis, trust analysis and professional hacking. He also leads ISECOM's consulting and analysis engagements for private research initiatives and is a frequent trainer and presenter at security conferences and internal seminars for corporations.

The next speaker, Graham Cluley, is an award-winning security blogger, researcher, podcaster and public speaker, who has been a well-known figure in the computer security industry since the early 1990s when he worked as a programmer, writing the first ever version of Dr Solomon's Anti-Virus Toolkit for Windows. Since then, Cluley has held several senior roles in organisations including Sophos and McAfee.
ITWeb Security Summit 2019

Call for papers is now open for ITWeb Security Summit 2019 in Johannesburg and Cape Town. Themed 'strengthening your cyber resiliency in an increasingly connected, digital world', this year's event will feature experts and thought leaders from around the world, who will share their knowledge and insights. Get involved in #SS19HACK and choose from a range of workshops, training courses, and much more. To submit a proposal, click here.

A world-renowned speaker, Cluley has given talks about computer security for some of the world's largest companies, worked with law enforcement agencies on investigations into hacking groups, and regularly appears on TV and radio explaining computer security threats. Cluley was inducted into the InfoSecurity Europe Hall of Fame in 2011.

Finally, Pukhraj Singh is a cyber intelligence analyst with 14 years of experience. He was instrumental in the setting up of the Indian government's cyber defence operations centre. Singh was laterally inducted into the government from the private sector after the 26/11 terror attacks. His role was multidisciplinary, and covered geopolitical doctrine formulation, eventually approved by the prime minister, to the brass tacks of cyber operations.

Later, Singh spent some time at Aadhaar, India's flagship biometric ID project as its first cyber security manager. Singh also had very brief stints in the private sector, working with Symantec's DeepSight, the industry's first threat intelligence team, and innovative American, Canadian and Israeli firms. He has spoken at a variety of national security fora and hacking conferences.

"Herzog, Cluley and Singh are only three of the many top security practitioners from SA and around the world we are bringing in for this year's summit," says Angela Mace, CRM and events director of ITWeb. "The speakers' vast knowledge and experience will give delegates a practical understanding of how to navigate today's increasingly complex and sophisticated threat landscape."
