First Distribution signs agreement with Tintri

Business

First Distribution, South Africa's (SA) leading distributor for data centre, enterprise and cloud solutions, has announced it has signed a distribution agreement with Tintri, a leading producer of VM-aware storage (VAS) for virtualisation and cloud environments.

Tintri VM-aware storage eliminates planning and complex troubleshooting by providing VM-level visibility, control, insight and agility, and powers hundreds of thousands of virtual machines running business-critical databases, enterprise apps, desktops and mobile apps, and private cloud deployments.

The company helps global enterprises such as AMD, F5 Networks, GE, NEC, NTT, MillerCoors and Time Warner maximise their virtualisation and cloud investments. Now partnering with First Distribution, the Tintri solution will be available across a wide range of South African sectors such as the major banking institutions for VDI, medical SP for large SQL deployments, enterprise media houses for SAP, SQL and VDI deployment and tertiary education for VDI deployment.

Sally Reade, EMEA Channel Manager, Tintri, said: "The appointment of First Distribution as a key distributor in South Africa matches our channel expansion strategy in the region. With its large network of channel partners, First Distribution offers Tintri an ideal platform to build a solid basis for long-term growth in the mid-market.

"We believe we now have put all the key elements in place to further build our strong sales channel and help businesses across South Africa to improve storage efficiencies in their virtualised environments. We have set some ambitious targets for the year ahead, and look forward to working towards them in close collaboration with First Distribution."

Managing Director of First Distribution, Debbie Abrahall, commented: "Virtualisation, cloud and flash-based storage technologies have shown double-digit growth over the last few years and show no signs of letting up anytime soon. All are increasingly relevant technologies in today's fast-paced IT environment.

"Tintri's technologically advanced product portfolio falls squarely into these categories, and I am pleased that we have signed a distribution agreement which will complement our existing product offerings. I look forward to our collaboration with Tintri and establishing a mutually beneficial relationship going forward."
