Indian banking IT services and solutions company JMR Infotech has announced the opening of its new office in Ghana.
The move to open offices in Ghana is aimed at expanding its presence in developing markets on the continent.
Chief executive officer of JMR Infotech, Jayafar Moidu, has said the Ghana office is just one of many on the company’s global expansion roadmap.
He said as a key part of its growth strategy, the company was highly investing in key emerging markets such as Africa and Asia in order to expand business.
JMR Infotech has recently entered into a joint venture with China-based ZTHT International for end-to-end banking IT services and solutions in China and opened its subsidiary JMR Infotech Nigeria to cater for the growing needs of the West Africa’s BFS IT industry.
JMR Infotech’s services and solutions are delivered through its unique Extended Arm engagement model through which the company works as an ‘extended arm’ of its clients by giving them the opportunity to reduce investment and total cost of ownership, Moidu added.
He said the Ghana office could also help JMR Infotech tap the growing opportunities in West Africa’s banking and financial services (BFS) IT industry.
“The Ghana office will play a major role in helping the company increase its reach and logistics flexibility across the West African region.
“Engaged with a number of BFS institutions in the region, JMR Infotech sees many opportunities in the region as the BFS IT market in West Africa matures and a large number of banking and financial institutions move to automate their processes or transform existing IT infrastructure," Moidu said.
He said that African financial institutions were largely banking on IT to enhance their operations and gain competitive advantage.
Helping to improve the company’s performance in the region, the Ghana office would also facilitate JMR Infotech to tap in to the growing lending market with its end-to-end loan origination software Lead To Loan, he revealed.
“Africa is a key market for JMR Infotech and we have major plan of geographic expansion put in place to ensure that we explore the region’s best growth opportunities. We are seeing increasing demand for advanced services and solutions as financial institutions transform the way they work and look for ways to enhance operational efficiency.
"JMR Infotech is committed to the growth of Africa’s BFS segment and is providing state-of-the-art services and solutions they need to compete at the global level,” Moidu said.
Yoku Korsah, Managing Director of JMR Infotech’s Ghana Operations said there were tremendous market opportunities in the region that his company was expanding into.
"The new office will enable us to provide new IT insights to our growing clientele in the region to drive their operational efficiencies and improve customer service," Korsah said.
JMR Infotech, formerly known as TRASSET Services Group, is a fast growing IT company with more than 250 dynamic and highly skilled people globally in the group.
The company has developed deep expertise in the financial market, backed by industry proven best practices in banking, understanding client’s business realities and has the solutions to advance their business goals, which enable JMR Infotech’s clients to grow their business organically, manage costs and manage risk.
